Leave a little unfinished.

A small case for a notebook that never needs to be complete.

A fountain pen touching a handwritten notebook page

A notebook works best when it is allowed to be incomplete. A sentence can end halfway down the page. An observation does not need a conclusion. The next thought may belong somewhere else entirely.

The pressure to make every page useful can make it harder to begin. I prefer to think of the notebook as a place for things that have not yet decided what they are.

Some fragments will become stories. Others will remain fragments. Both are signs that attention was given, and for now that is enough.

Thanks for spending a little time here.
